The average energy bill is set to surge by 54% from 1 April, with prices predicted to rise again in the next 6 months. So, if you’re one of the millions of homeowners trying to reduce your heating bills to make your home more efficient and save money in time for the next energy cap hike, have you thought about updating your window frames with an energy-efficient alternative?…

Which window style is the most energy-efficient?

Featuring ultra-tight seals on each side of the frame, casement windows are the most efficient window style capable of being opened. Our casement windows are fitted with A+ energy rated double glazing as standard, for absolute peace of mind your home will stay warm and cosy all year round. Although, all our window styles are manufactured and designed to deliver the very best energy ratings possible.

What is the most efficient glass for windows?

Low emissivity (low-E) glass is the most energy-efficient type of glass for high performance double and triple glazed windows. Up to 40% more efficient than standard double-glazed windows, it features a microscopic transparent coating that reflects the heat. Considerably lowering heating bills and reducing damaging UV rays from entering the space, low-E glass never blocks out the light.

What is the most energy-efficient window material?

Generally speaking, multi-chambered uPVC window frames can reach the best energy ratings, closely followed by modern aluminium and natural timber frames. Focusing on our own window products, our uPVC and timber windows are both able to achieve A+ energy ratings and incredibly low U-values of just 0.8 W/m²K. There really isn’t a lot of difference with our aluminium windows either, which can reach A+ energy ratings and U-values of 1.1 W/m²K.
